Wathena Lodge No.64's Alter

This Alter was made from the wood of the Oak tree which stood on the Missouri River bluff near Wathena and which one of the first Masonic Lodges in the Kansas Territory met in 1854, under Dispensation of the Grand Lodge of Missouri. The tree was removed on March 21, 1935, by Wathena Lodge No. 64 and this Alter was dedicated by our Most Worshipful Grand Master James H. Wendorff on October 21, 1936.
